Velion Technologies (“Velion,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an eBook and publishing services agency providing customized creative and technical services, including (but not limited to) editing, proofreading, formatting, cover design, writing assistance (when agreed), publishing support, and marketing support. Because these services are personalized, time-based, and often involve immediate allocation of resources, this Refund Policy explains when refunds, credits, or cancellations may apply.
By purchasing our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Refund Policy.
1. Service-Based Nature of Work: Our deliverables are tailored to your specific project (your book/manuscript, brand, and goals). Once work begins, Velion Technologies incurs costs in labor, tools, scheduling, and reserved production time.
2. No Guaranteed Outcomes: We do not guarantee publishing approvals, bestseller rankings, sales, reviews, advertising performance, or platform outcomes. Refunds are not issued for results that depend on third parties or market response.
3. Written Scope Controls Eligibility: Refund eligibility depends on the scope and milestones stated in your invoice, proposal, order form, or written agreement.
For clarity in this policy:
• “Order” means the service package or custom scope you purchased.
• “Work has started” means any of the following has occurred: onboarding, research, outlining, drafting, editing, design concepting, formatting setup, project planning, file preparation, team assignment, or any measurable production activity.
• “Deliverables” means any files, drafts, designs, formatted manuscripts, or other outputs produced for your project.
We collect information in the following categories:
If you cancel before work begins, you may be eligible for a refund minus any non-refundable charges, such as:
• Payment processor fees (charged to us by banks/payment gateways)
• Administrative/onboarding costs already incurred (if applicable)
If any setup or onboarding work has started, your refund may be reduced accordingly.
Once work has started, payments are generally non-refundable because time and resources have been committed. However, at our discretion and where permitted by law, we may offer:
• A partial refund proportional to the uncompleted portion of the project, or
• An account credit for future services
Any partial refund/credit calculation will consider completed milestones, hours spent, revisions provided, and costs already incurred.
Once final deliverables have been delivered (or the final milestone has been completed), the order is considered fulfilled, and no refund is available, except where required by law.
Many book projects are performed in phases, such as discovery/onboarding, outline, draft, editing rounds, formatting, cover design stages, and final delivery. When your order is structured by milestones:
• Payments associated with a completed milestone are non-refundable
• If cancellation occurs mid-milestone, any adjustment is determined based on work completed within that milestone
• Changes in direction that require restarting a phase may be treated as a new scope (and may not be refundable)
We take quality seriously. If you are dissatisfied, please contact us promptly so we can correct issues within the agreed scope.
Unless your agreement states otherwise, you must request revisions within a reasonable period after delivery (commonly 7–14 days). After that window, the project may be considered closed.
• Revisions:adjustments that stay consistent with the original brief, scope, and approved direction
• New work: added chapters, major rewrites, new design concepts after approval, new formats, new publishing platforms, or a major change in genre/voice/branding direction
New work may require additional fees and does not qualify for refunds on completed work.
Refunds are not issued for subjective preferences after you have approved key elements (e.g., outline approval, design direction approval, formatting style approval) and we deliver work consistent with those approvals.
The following are typically non-refundable:
• Work already completed (drafts, edits, designs, formatted files, consultations)
• Rush/expedite fees (once scheduling/resources are reserved)
• Third-party costs incurred on your behalf (stock images/fonts/licenses, printing proofs, platform fees, domain/hosting tools, paid advertising spend)
• Any payment processing fees that are not returned to us by the payment processor
• Services delivered according to the agreed scope and timeline
If your project includes publishing assistance, please note:
• Platform approvals, account status, pricing controls, content policy enforcement, and ranking algorithms are controlled by third parties.
• We cannot issue refunds due to rejections, delays, suspensions, or performance outcomes caused by third parties or policy violations.
• You are responsible for ensuring your content complies with platform rules and applicable laws.
We encourage you to contact us first to resolve concerns quickly and fairly. Initiating a chargeback without attempting resolution may:
• Pause your project immediately
• Result in withholding of deliverables until the dispute is resolved
• Require documentation showing services delivered and time spent
We reserve the right to dispute chargebacks when services were provided as agreed.
To request a refund or cancellation review, email us with:
• Your full name and order/invoice number
• The service purchased and purchase date
• A brief explanation of the request
• Any supporting materials (screenshots, notes, relevant communications)
We may request additional information to verify your identity and order details.
If a refund is approved:
• Refunds are issued to the original payment method when possible
• Processing time depends on your bank/payment provider (typically several business days)
• If the original method is unavailable, we may offer store credit or an alternative method where legally permissible
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date will reflect the latest version. Continued use of our services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
